About Us

Craig & Rose is in its third century of continual paint manufacture. We are perhaps best known as manufacturers of the original Forth Bridge paint. Our paint range faithfully represents many colours of the past and we are very proud of our heritage. We are co-founders of 'The Traditional Paint Forum' that keeps alive the knowledge, materials and techniques of the past.

Today, we offer a broad palette of colours to suit your architecture and taste. Whether you aim for a traditional look or wish to be modern chic, we can offer you a range of colours that will inspire and delight.

An important aspect of our manufacturing strategy is to use modern materials and technology that minimise environmental impact. We favour water-borne finishes that are low in volatile organic compounds.

Quality is a priority for Craig & Rose and we were one of the first British paint manufacturers to be awarded BS 5750.

Committed to the environment

We have developed water-based paint as replacements for conventional solvent-based gloss paints. This has a beneficial impact in a reduction of 99% of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can cause damage to vegetation and crops. Water-based paints are also easier to work with and clean-up.
