If you are planning on welcoming guests into your home this Christmas you're probably keen to make a real effort. This will feel like such a treat in comparison to last year. Creating that cosy, festive feel will make it all the more special and this bedroom demonstrates just what a fresh lick of paint and some twinkling lights can do to a space.
This bedroom originally had dark blue walls but with a little bit of time and some easy steps, a welcoming, warm and sophisticated style was created.
Aiming for an elegant and grown-up look to complement the new high headboard, some simple panelling was applied to the walls to add interest.
Not phased by the drastic change in colour, Lily (@layered.home) used our 1829 Undercoat in Light Grey first to prepare the surface for painting and to ensure the new colour looked exactly as she hoped.
'Greige' colours are hugely popular at the moment as people adopt warmer, more saturated tones into their homes yet still enjoy the elegance of grey.
Lily chose Grisaille - our sumptuous honey-tinted colour for the topcoat in this room. She used Chalky Emulsion for the walls and the same colour in Eggshell for the woodwork.
