We all appreciate how expensive weddings can be and every little bit helps. DIY weddings are more popular than ever and have many benefits beyond saving those pennies.
Let’s not forget that wedding planning can be rather stressful, so getting creative is a great opportunity to provide a moment of escapism and offers another excuse for involving your nearest and dearest too.
The beautiful decor you create when you're adding personal touches that you’re really proud of will wow your guests and truly mean something to you.
These DIY projects are super easy, quick and designed to impress.
When it comes to the wow factor it’s always worth considering a backdrop for your ceremony - a photobooth, wedding breakfast, top table or cake table. These can really make the other details pop and create ‘zones’ where you may want guests to focus on. Plus, your photographer will likely be happy with you for making their job a bit easier!
Photography backdrop stands aren’t expensive and are often extendable so are pretty much guaranteed to fit any space and are perfect for hanging fabric or flowers. You may not envisage a black metal stand as part of your wedding so how about using Artisan spray paint on the frame, to match your colour theme? Rose Gold, Metallic Gold and Copper (as shown) are popular – but there are over 15 other colours and effects to choose from.
Lanterns are a fabulous decor option for many settings as they can be used to create whimsical candlelight or house floral arrangements. These can line either side of the aisle for a romantic touch along garden paths to guide guests or be used as beautiful centrepieces on the tables. Imagining how many you might need can be a daunting thought when considering the budget, but you could consider buying a variety of versions then spray painting them for a more luxe look.
Other ideas include upcycling an old bar cart, using metallic paint to create monogrammed table runners, spraying jam jars and wine bottles to fill with a beautiful collection of rustic flowers or spraying branches with our Artisan metallic paints to display in doorways or on either side of the aisle.
However you choose to DIY we hope you enjoy being creative and adding those personal touches to your big day.
